Mass Production, 2023
two channel video, velvet, wood

Mass Production ponders the similarities between work and worship– assembly and consumption. The machine-like repetition performed by the congregation in Mass eerily mirrors that of the workers in Production. Found visuals of the assembly line paired with found audio of the Eucharist (and vice versa) ask us to consider whether or not religious indoctrination conditions us for habitual lives of conformity.
To view Mass Production, one must actively position themselves on a kneeler to pray while contemplating this act's connection to manufacturing. In doing so, viewers symbolically worship capitalism’s celebration of unrelenting productivity.
